160 W AC-DC adapter

28 April 2010 Power Electronics / Power Management

The GS160 series is the newest addition to Mean Well’s AC/DC adapter lineup, and provides 160 W operation while complying with worldwide regulations for external power supplies.

Possessing very low no-load power consumption (less than 0,5 W) and up to 94% efficiency, the series offers energy savings in both standby mode and active mode.

Using the standard IEC320-C14 inlet as the input connector, the power supplies are 90–264 V a.c. full-range-input, single-output desktop switchers integrated PFC. With an earth ground pin and enclosed by a UL 94V-0 rated plastic case, these Class I units can effectively prevent users from electrical shock. Output voltages range from 12 to 48 V, fulfilling the requirements of various electronic equipments. By exploiting up-to-date LLC topology, the GS160 series achieves up to 94% efficiency and can be cooled by free air convection from -30°C to +50°C under full load conditions (at 230 V a.c.), and all the way up to +70°C when appropriate de-rating is observed.

The units boast global safety/EMC certificates per TUV, UL, CUL, BSMI, CCC, CB, FCC and CE, guaranteeing system safety and reliability for applications such as consumer electronics, point-of-sale, LCD display and office/commercial equipment.
