The MP20046 from Monolithic Power Systems is a low dropout (LDO) linear regulator supplying up to 2 A with 210 mV dropout voltage.
The output voltage is preset internally and ranges from 1,5 V to 3,3 V. An internal PMOS pass element is used to allow a low 75 μA ground current at full load and drops down to 1 μA when the device is disabled, making it suitable for battery-power devices.
The device features a power supply rejection ratio (PSRR) of 70 dB at 100 Hz (53 dB at 10 kHz) and low 17 μVRMS output noise. An integrated ‘power good’ function resets microcomputer and microprocessor systems in the event of an under-voltage condition. The MP20046 is designed to have a fast response for larger load and line transient response. Other features include current limit and thermal protection. The IC is available in thermally enhanced SOIC8 package and 10-pin QFN package.
