The new generation of M12 plug connectors from Phoenix Contact brings Gigabit Ethernet to harsh industrial environments.
The M12-Cat6A plug connectors combine a robust and compact design with a high degree of security for distributed automation structures. In conformance with the Ethernet standard it permits data transmission rates of up to 10 Gbps along sections of 100 m. Phoenix Contact has developed an innovative shield system including the shielding of the individual data pairs; as a consequence, data transmission is possible in environments with a high degree of electromagnetic noise.
Device manufacturers as well as machine and plant construction companies can integrate this standard – described in IEC PAS 61076-2-109 – into their products at an early stage. In addition to panel feed-throughs, moulded cables and plug connectors that can be fabricated in the field are available.
