IT enclosure for remote sites

Modrac’s EnviroRac range of IT enclosures has been developed for remote sites, branch offices, or anywhere that the construction of a server room is not possible.

The EnviroRac was originally conceptualised and designed as a solution for government departments which needed to secure and control their server equipment; some sites were remote and had neither the manpower nor the budget to build and run functional data rooms. Modrac was approached and was asked to come up with a solution – and so the EnviroRac concept was born. A software program was sourced and further developed in order to run the unit as well as alert the necessary management structures of any possible problems, such as access violations or temperature and humidity breaches.

Now in its fifth generation, the all new EnviroRac5 comes standard with bio access control, electromagnetic locks on the doors, a managed power system, 15 000 BTU single unit airconditioner, a fire prevention and suppression kit, remote video surveillance, a 3 kVA UPS to run the remote alert response system (RARS) and mag locks in the event of power outages.

The EnviroRac5 offers small to medium businesses a workable, functional and controlled environment for their data equipment. Businesses do not require a dedicated room to house their servers; instead the unit can be placed anywhere: an office, unused space under a stairwell or even the reception area can be utilised due to the innovative one-piece Modrac air conditioner. This solution also has the advantage of becoming a movable asset.
