The new housings from the industrial multipole connector series ‘revos Basic’ and ‘revos Mini’ from Wieland Electric are highly corrosion resistant and dirt repellent. Their surface finish is robust and weatherproof, with high-temperature resistance up to 250°C and easy-to-clean features. The finish is applied to the standard aluminium housings which themselves guarantee durability and impact strength.
The connectors’ finishing varnish of only a few micrometres provides not only protection against corrosion, but also water repellent characteristics which prevent or impede adhesion of dirt and other unwanted substances. The smooth black, glossy finish also withstands mechanical wear, is scratch and abrasion proof as well as resistant to organic solvents.
With their IP65 protection, these connectors can be used in rough and highly corrosive environments such as in offshore wind parks, in construction machines, in the food processing industry as well as in the chemical, pharmaceutical and biotechnology sectors. The housings satisfy DIN EN ISO 12944, corrosion class C5-high, which includes a salt spray test over 1440 hours.
