Sunrise Telecom, a leading provider of service verification equipment for telecommunications and Internet networks, has announced its latest advancement to the SunSet E20 product line, which is now available in either colour (E20c) or monochrome (E20) display versions. The GPRS and X.25 software enhancements add new service verification protocols to the E20, complementing existing support for Frame Relay, ISDN, SS7, GSM and V5.1/V5.2.
GPRS (general packet radio service) is the new mobile network technology that enhances data transmission between mobile applications and the network. The Sunset E20 supports GPRS over A-bis and GPRS over Frame Relay. Analysis tools include layer detection pass/fail criteria and counter measurements pertaining to network, BSSGP and upper layer statistics.
X.25, a common data packet service, is often implemented in GSM networks deployed in Europe, Africa and Asia. The Sunset E20 features an X.25 monitoring and analysis function at the 2 Mbps A/A-ter interface providing link performance data and LCN statistics.
The SunSet E20 and E20c support dual E1 and datacom test capabilities for both field installation and maintenance of E1 and datacom networks. Both versions are an ideal test solution for service providers who need to keep pace with the latest technology advancements.
