MyData jet printer wins global award

17 February 2010 News

MyData’s jet printer MY500 has won the 2009 Global Technology Award, sponsored by Global SMT & Packaging magazine. The prize was presented at a ceremony at Productronica last year. The awards honour products and technologies that have driven the SMT industry forward over the past year. A panel of industry experts selects winners after evaluating nominations on innovation, cost effectiveness, speed/throughput improvements, quality contribution, ease of use, maintenance and technological advances.

Using a novel technology for solder paste application, MY500 shoots solder paste on the fly without touching the PCB. Because machine settings on the printer are automatic, process engineers can concentrate entirely on the deposit design and location. The ability to inspect and repair the printing reduces the risk of mistakes and the amount of rework – which in turn leads to increased profitability.
