5-pole circular power connectors

20 January 2010 Interconnection

Wieland Electric has extended its gesisIP+ product range with the addition of 5-pole RST power connectors for currents up to 50 A. Due to their compact size, the two-piece round connectors of type RST50i5 can be mounted easily and enable reliable on-site installation of electrical devices. The device connectors for installation inside housings can be mounted easily to a cut-out prepared for M32 cable glands. An adapter ring in an already prepared M40 cut-out takes care of the required centring.

Sophisticated locking mechanisms avoid time-consuming mounting operations. In addition to the proven screw connection technology the components are also available in crimp connection technology for industrial pre-assembly. The user-friendly bayonet lock can also protect against accidental disconnection of the connector (if necessary with sealing wire).

The round connectors are suitable for use in solar technology for inverters, where large wire cross sections must be connected in mainly confined spaces; for construction power systems to avoid exploitation of the supply by third parties or unrelated trades; for power supply of mobile homes or construction site containers; in shipbuilding for power supply; for power distribution in industrial systems and battery charge systems; and in building installation technology.

The connectors and device connectors are designed for 250/400 V and provide IP66/67 protection.
