Graphical power quality analyser

20 January 2010 Test & Measurement

The Iso-Tech IPM6300 is a balanced, three-phase and single-phase, 3000 A graphical power quality analyser with data-logging functions for the analysis and diagnosis of power quality and disturbance problems in electrical installations and power circuits. An optically isolated USB lead and analysis software enable readings to be displayed and/or downloaded for analysis on a PC or laptop.

The instrument provides a graphical display of voltage and current waveforms, and features active (W, kW, HP), reactive (VAR, kVAR) and apparent power measurement (VA, kVA). Power factor and phase angle measurements are also available, as is energy calculation (WH and kWH). Transient detection is capable of measuring swell, dip and outage. The device can also provide graphical harmonic analysis (V and A) to the 50th order in % and magnitude, as well as analysis of % THD.

The IPM6300 can display phase diagrams on its backlit 128 x 64 dot matrix LCD. It features a realtime clock to enhance its maximum demand measurement capabilities over pre-settable time period. A programmable CT ratio from one to 3000 is provided for very high power measurements, and the logging interval is settable from one to 3000 seconds.
