Arbitrary waveform generators

11 November 2009 Electronics Technology

Rigol announced a range of waveform generators – the DG10X2 series – which enables technicians to create two synchronised signals and adjust the phase difference accurately.

UltraWave software enables technicians to create any kind of signals they want. With Rigol’s DG10X2 waveform generator technicians can simulate sensors and natural environment signals, perform in circuit function test, serial bus test and IC tests.

The device features DDS technology to increase accuracy and stability of output signals, while lowering distortion. It generates five standard waveforms – sine, square, ramp, pulse and noise – as well as 48 stored arbitrary waveforms. Sampling rate is 100 MSps, vertical resolution is 14 bits and memory depth is 4000 points. AM, FM, FSK, sweep and burst modulation modes are included as standard.

Inputs and outputs include an external modulation source, external clock reference (10 MHz), external trigger input, waveform output and synchronous signal output. The system includes a USB host to support USB disk storage and features a multi-language user interface with built-in help system.
