Mean Well has launched the new SP-240 series to replace its soon-to-be-phased-out S-240 series of 240 W power supplies. The single-output enclosed type power supplies with built-in active power factor correction (PFC) function is designed to replicate both the features and dimensions of the old series, keeping the same locations of bottom mounting holes and DC fan, but lowering the height by 15 mm.
With full range input from 88 to 264 V a.c., the new series has the same output voltages options (5/7,5/12/15/24/30/48 V) as the old model. Featuring up to 89% operating efficiency, the SP-240 series is equipped with a long life DC fan with ON/OFF control circuit that can be operated up to 70°C ambient temperature.
The SP-240 series features standard functions such as adjustable output voltage by internal potential meter, and protection for short circuit, overload, over-voltage and over-temperature. All series comply with international safety standards per UL/CUL/TUV/CB/CE. Suitable applications include industrial automation, moving signs, electronic equipment and instrumentation.
