The MP2905 from Monolithic Power Systems is an hysteretic voltage-mode controlled, synchronous PWM buck controller. The output voltage can be regulated from 0,6 V to 0,9*VIN and the device achieves high output current over a wide input supply range from 3 to 28 V. The IC integrates an internal LDO regulator that makes the controller function at a wide input supply.
Hysteretic voltage-mode control provides fast transient response without additional loop compensation. An adjustable soft-start prevents inrush current at turn-on, and the device senses high-side switch voltage drop for hiccup current limit and short circuit protection. The frequency is adjustable from 200 kHz to 500 kHz.
