Maxim has introduced the MAX15032, constant-frequency, pulse width modulated (PWM), low-noise step-up converter.
Designed for low-voltage systems that require a locally generated high-voltage output, this device integrates a high-voltage DMOS power switch, allowing it to boost the output up to 36 V and deliver 600 mW.
The device employs an internal charge-pump circuit to enable low-voltage operation from 2,7 V to 11 V. It is suitable for applications such as avalanche-photodiode, PIN-diode, and varactor-diode biasing. It is also well suited for set-top box audio IC supplies and LCD displays. The IC utilises a current-mode PWM architecture that switches at a constant 500 kHz frequency to ease filtering requirements. A shutdown input allows for low power consumption.
Available in a 3 x 3 mm, 8-pin TDFN package, the MAX15032 is fully specified over the -40°C to +125°C temperature range.
