Waterproof power modules

10 June 2009 Power Electronics / Power Management

MTM has released a new range of power modules employing a thermoselective vacuum encapsulation process making them capable of operation in conditions of splashing water, condensed water or even completely underwater. They are designed specifically for extreme environmental conditions which include dust and humidity.

The modules accept input voltages in the range of 90–264 V a.c. or 100–353 V d.c., with single output voltages of 24 V, 36 V and 48 V. The modules are designed for decentralised systems without cabinets and employ a rugged design using SMD technology. They are subjected to an automatic 100% final test and 100%-burn-in-test.

The PM-IP67A 100 series offers 100 W constant output wattage, is short circuit protected, needs no ground load and is operating within a temperature range of

-25 to +70°C. Besides this 100 W version, the PM IP67A series includes modules with an output power of 50 W and 75 W (each with single outputs) and 200 W (single and dual output).
