Lithium iron manganese phosphate batteries

27 May 2009 Power Electronics / Power Management

Aztec Electronics, as the southern African distributor for Valence Energy Storage Solutions, is offering the latest range of Valence lithium iron magnesium phosphate batteries for specialised applications.

Valence’s lithium iron magnesium phosphate energy storage systems and solutions are suitable for almost all large format applications requiring a lightweight, safe and reliable source of energy. These products are not a substitute for lead-acid technology but rather a supplement for applications where the inherent weight of lead-acid batteries make them prohibitive. The main target markets for these products are motive, stationary, industrial and military.

Valence lithium iron magnesium phosphate is a lithium chemistry that is stable in overcharge or short circuit conditions and has the ability to withstand higher temperatures than lithium oxides. Furthermore, it is not prone to thermal runaway and will not burn.
