Mean Well has launched the second series of its SDR-480 slim DIN rail product family. Featuring 94% efficiency, it can provide 480 W continuously or 720 W for 3 seconds at temperatures up to 60°C using only free air convection. With a built-in active PFC function, the unit is a full input range switcher that fulfils the requirement of EN61000-3-2 for harmonic current.
Standard functions include DC OK relay contact, on panel LED indicator, and protection for short-circuit, overload, over-voltage and over-temperature. To fulfil the requirements of marine and semiconductor related usage, the SDR-480 also complies with GL and SEMI F47 norms in addition to UL, CUL, TUV and CE certificates. Suitable applications are factory automation, semiconductor fabrication equipment, marine related installation, and electromechanical applications with medium to high power demand.
