The EKI-2525P from Advantech is a 5-port unmanaged industrial Ethernet switch with PoE (Power-over-Ethernet) capabilities. Four of the ports are PoE enabled to provide the power necessary to power the module. This simple feature adds convenience, allowing portability for field use, and mitigates the need to install the switch near outlets or wiring for power.
The EKI-2525P provides up to 15,4 W per port and can be used to power IEEE802.3af compliant powered devices (PD) via Ethernet cable. This system allows for the transport of both power and data over a single Cat5 Ethernet cable, which provides users with a large degree of flexibility in terms of network device placement.
The switch comes equipped with all the standard features of the EKI family, such as IP30 metal housing and 3000 V d.c. surge protection for the power line, plus 4000 V d.c. ESD protection on the Ethernet ports. It operates at temperatures between -10°C and +60°C and provides current overload protection with a resettable fuse.
