Single and double versions of small automotive power relay

28 March 2001 Switches, Relays & Keypads

Micro relays are becoming increasingly popular in the automotive sector, and Tyco Electronics says its Micro power relay K ranks as one of the most powerful miniature relays on the world market. It is currently also available in an SMT version.

Tyco engineers have developed the Double Micro power relay K in both THT and SMT versions, featuring two completely independent systems in one housing, thus guaranteeing maximum performance on minimum space at ever lower noise.

Key advantages of the Micro power relay K suite are:

* Only 11,3 mm high for SMT and 10,0 mm for THT.

* Minimal space requirements.

* Limiting continuous current 30 A.

* Low weight (approx 4 g/8 g).

* Power-saving high-impedance coil.

* High sensitivity.

* Environmentally friendly contact material.

* Automated high-tech production.

* Test results for SMT behaviour on PCB available.

Applications are for:

* Rear window heating.

* Power seat, window and sunroof.

* Windscreen wiper control.

* Indicator control.

* Vehicle lighting.

* Motor reverse management.
