The new Connector Application Wizard from Erni Electronics is a comprehensive tool to simplify the connector selection process to best match the needs of the specific PCB design requirements.
ERNI has divided the typical PCB configurations into four connector application areas:
* PCBs arranged on the same level (extender card).
* Stacked or parallel PCBs (mezzanine).
* PCBs arranged at a right angle (motherboard-to-daughter card).
* PCB-cable connections (board-to-cable).
Each of the four connector categories is represented by a recognisable application icon. By selecting the appropriate icon, an overview of all the possible connector solutions appears. Arranged by the smallest pitch first, this overview provides every available termination method including surface mount, through-hole and press-fit. In addition, each connector listed has a 'Show Mating Products' link to provide all the mating connector choices available, including board-to-board and cable-to-board solutions. Detailed product descriptions, data sheets, stock checks and the ability to request samples are accessible.
