Wide input, compact 15 W DC-DC converters

16 April 2008 Power Electronics / Power Management

Fitting into a meta-cased compact 50,8 x 25,4 mm footprint, XP Power's new JTH15 series of 15 W DC-DC converters is suited to low power, board mounted designs. The series can accommodate a wide 4:1 range of input voltages, from 9 to 36 V d.c. or 18 to 72 V d.c. Both single and dual output versions are available. The single output device is available with +3,3, +5, +12 or +15 V rails, while the dual version has ±5, ±12 or ±15 outputs.

Models are fully regulated, with a line regulation of ±0,5% and a load regulation of ±0,5%, 10-100% load. Input to output isolation is rated at 1500 V d.c. The JTH15 series will suit most environments without the need for additional heat-sinking or airflow. The units operate from -40°C to +100°C, with derating above +60°C. They have a high MTBF of more than 1,2 million hours to MIL-STD-417F for long life and high reliability.
