Local manufacturer and supplier of mimic components

2 April 2008 News

Mimic Crafts was established in 1971 as a manufacturer of electronic and mimic displays. Over the years, the company has built up expertise in other areas, including control desks, software and display electronics. As a result of its constant growth and success, and the many overseas contracts it has undertaken, it became necessary to split the company into two groups: Mimic Crafts and Mimic Components.

Mimic Crafts offers a wide range of mosaic tiles, including an aluminium grid system. Apart from mosaics, it also produces excellent photo-anodised aluminium face plates. The company boasts large bed computerised engraving facilities and fully equipped CAD facilities for its engraved mimics. It also boasts that it pioneered the revival of rear engraved perspex mimics using new materials which cut cost without compromising quality.

Mimic Crafts also manufactures high quality consoles which are aimed at the upper market segment geared towards prestige control rooms. Control desks are tailored to customer specifications and especially made to house computer-based systems.

Mimic Components was born as a direct result of the growing demand for specialised control components. The company is now able to accommodate clients with specific requirements in the area of operator interfaces (informing and warning). It currently enjoys a strong market position in pilot lights and filament lamp replacements. Besides the wide range of high quality electrical and electronic components it supplies, Mimic Components also manufactures a large range of big digit displays, alarm displays and alarm annunciators.
