Newly available from MeshNetics, the ZigBit module is based on an Atmel hardware platform featuring ATmega 1281v MCU and the AT86RF230 RF transceiver. Two different versions of the ZigBit module are available, the ZDM-A1281-B0 module with balanced RF output for use with a PCB or external antenna, and the ZDM-A-1281-A2 module with the onboard dual chip antenna for size-sensitive applications. The 802.15.4/ZigBee modules already carry the important certifications, including FCC and CE.
The compact modules (24 x 13,5 mm for the ZDM-A-1281-A2 and 18,8 x 13,5 mm for the ZDM-A1281-B0) offer impressive radio performance: the ZigBit module with an external antenna achieves a range of over 1000 m without the use of an amplifier and battery life exceeds 10 years for the majority of wireless monitoring applications.
The ZigBit modules come bundled with the customisable eZeeNet networking firmware enabling module-based OEM products to form self-healing, self-organising mesh networks. Additionally, a set of serial AT Commands is available for easy operation.
The ZigBit Development Kit offers developers easy-to-use tools to test the module's range and power consumption, as well as write a custom embedded application. Each kit includes development boards with sensors, accessories, software and documentation.
