Half- and full-duplex RS485 transceivers

Maxim's MAX13181E/2E/3E/4E are full-duplex and selectable half-/full-duplex RS485 transceivers. Packaged in a 2 mm x 2 mm microDFN, these transceivers are suitable for space-constrained applications such as motor control and portable sensors. The devices include enhanced ±15 kV ESD protection (Human Body Model), pullup/pulldown resistors, and a 1/8 unit-load receiver-input impedance, thus allowing up to 256 transceivers on the bus. Additionally, the MAX13181E/2E provide slew-rate-limited drivers that reduce EMI and enable error-free transmission up to 500 Kbps in environments with high levels of radiated noise. The MAX13183E/4E, on the other hand, feature full-speed drivers that allow data rates up to 16 Mbps. The ICs operate over the -40°C to +85°C temperature range, and are available in a 10-pin microDFN package.
