Fanless 100 W ATX power supplies

17 October 2007 Power Electronics / Power Management

Mean Well has introduced a new range of switching power supplies for fanless ATX power in an adaptor-type plastic enclosure. The ATX-100 is rated for 100 W continuously and possesses the capability of 125 W or 150 W peak loads for short periods. With the built-in active PFC function, it can fulfil the requirement of harmonic current per EN-61000-3-2 and reduce energy consumption. Add to this the no-load power consumption of less than 1 W, and this power supply can achieve the demanding energy saving requirements of many of today's commercial/consumer appliances.

The special 18AWG*20C UL rated cable with 20-pin connector used as the output connection, combined with the fully isolated plastic case, make the ATX-100 easier and safer for users to assemble than conventional internal type ATX power, according to the manufacturer. Standard functions include power OK signal, PS-ON control, short circuit, overload, over-voltage, and over-temperature protections. Suitable applications are POS-systems, home multimedia systems and industrial PC-based equipment.
