The STEVAL-ICV001V1 audio play evaluation board from STMicroelectronics, based on ST7Superlite microprocessor technology, provides a low-cost, functional solution for playing sound files stored in serial Flash memory through a speaker. The board's ST7FLITES2 microcontroller processes sound files using the on-chip PWM and a 6th-order filter, removing any unwanted high-frequency noise. The resulting sound output is amplified at a desired level provided by a volume control. A graphic user interface is available to convert 8 kHz *.wav files to the necessary *.bin file format and to place them in Flash memory using a Flash programmer.
