Serial-to-parallel converter suits high voltages

25 July 2007 Electronics Technology

The HV610 from Supertex is a 32-channel, serial-to-parallel converter with high voltage, push-pull outputs. The IC is well suited to driving high-speed printers and LCD displays.

The device's outputs can be individually controlled, set to high or low, or set to a high-Z state, providing useful versatility in applications requiring fast shift register and data shifting speeds. The IC features four data shift registers, directional data loading control, operating output of +50/-40 V, and CMOS/TTL compatible inputs. The HV610's output current capability allows for fast switching of high voltage wave-forms with large capacitive loads, as required in applications such as high-speed printers and LCD displays. The HV610 is available in a 64-lead TQFP (HV610FG-G) package.
