Highly durable, leverless limit switches

11 July 2007 Switches, Relays & Keypads

TopWorx boasts that its 70-Series GO Switch range has been proven reliable and durable in processing and manufacturing plants for over 30 years, and since they are leverless limit switches, there is no metal-to-metal contact, and virtually nothing to wear out. These switches are built to last for high cycle, dirty and physically abusive applications. The accompanying figure shows the switches installed in a particularly harsh environment at a power station, where they are claimed to have been in operation for 10 years. With an IP65 rating, their design prevents ingress of caustics, moisture and particulate. Other options include Nema 7, 9, 12, and IP68 (submersible) with some models rated for use at depths down to 6000 metres.

The 70-Series features -40 to +105°C operating temperature, no leakage current, voltage independence and pressure rating of 10 000 psi. Options are available for Zone 0, 1 and 2 explosion-proof environments with Imperial or Metric threads.
