DIAdem 10.2, the latest version of the interactive data management, analysis and reporting software from National Instruments, now offers support for Windows Vista. The company also released NI DataFinder Server Edition 1.1, an updated version of the data mining solution that works with DIAdem 10.2 to simplify data sharing and mining across entire groups or departments.
Windows Vista, the latest operating system released by Microsoft earlier this year, is equipped with Windows Instant Search, an enhanced search tool that allows developers to conduct dynamic searches of many common file types including Microsoft Word documents, Excel spreadsheets and Internet pages. While this level of search functionality is typically adequate for general users, engineers frequently need to perform data mining and analysis to identify trends and extract meaningful information from their test data. DIAdem 10.2 is designed to give engineers quick access to large volumes of scattered data, consistent reporting and data visualisation.
Engineers can also use DIAdem DataFinder, a data mining feature introduced in DIAdem 10.0, to perform Internet-like searches of their data files, regardless of file format. Additionally, with the DIAdem platform, engineers can mine their data based on key information to identify trends, analyse the trends using the hundreds of built-in analysis functions and share their results with customisable reports.
Companies now can extend data mining to entire groups and departments with the NI DataFinder Server Edition 1.1. By configuring DataFinder Server Edition software on a server machine, multiple client computers can have simultaneous access to collected test data. This gives engineers the ability to share and search large amounts of test data within their groups or departments.
Both DIAdem 10.2 and DataFinder Server Edition 1.1 are compatible with the most recent versions of National Instruments LabVIEW and LabWindows/CVI software. Readers can view demonstrations of DIAdem at www.ni.com/diadem
