Wireless, mobile and compact UHF/VHF communication

16 May 2007 Telecoms, Datacoms, Wireless, IoT

UHF and VHF communication is something that Satel has been doing for more than two decades with a wide range of wireless modems to suit all applications. For example, the interface options (Figure 1) include serial RS232/422 and RS485, Ethernet RJ45, Profibus and Modbus, analog/digital I/O, and alarm signal.

Figure 1

The modem options (Figure 2) for the different Satelline 3AS types are: [d] - 1 W, 12,5/25 kHz, 160 Channels, H-D, 19200 bps; [Epic] - 10 W, 12,5/25 kHz, 160 Channels, H-D, 19200 bps; [VHF] - the same as 3AS[d] but in VHF format; [NMS] - same as 3AS[d], but with network management software; or the 3AS VHF with network management software. The type 1870 is 100 mW, 25 kHz, 74 Channels, half-duplex, 9600 bps.

These modems can be integrated into any existing system design and have high quality components to ensure reliable transmission success. Point-to-point and multipoint with diagnostics/monitoring capabilities are available. Power consumption is also low. The modems have factory settings to suit client requirements and they are ICASA approved. A licence-free type 869 MHz is available as well as a 3-in-1 unit with TX, RX and repeater all in one.
