Hitachi Display Products Group has introduced the TX09D40 as an addition to its current range of 3,5″ quarter-VGA TFT display modules. The TX09D40, available with or without touch screen functionality, offers the convenience of an onboard, integrated timing controller without increasing the outline dimensions of the display.
"By delivering a built-in timing controller on the TX09D40 and maintaining outline compatibility with existing models, we are giving customers the opportunity to reduce costs, simplify design and improve performance," comments Mark Stephenson, product manager for Hitachi Display Products. "Customers now have a choice whether to upgrade to the latest technology with new features at the same price, or stay with the current models, depending on their circumstances."
Both module variants feature a white LED backlight for the transmissive TMR (transmissive with micro reflectance), active matrix, TFT LCD display. This produces clear, bright images with a contrast ratio of 300:1 and 262 000 colours. The robust display delivers highly saturated colour images in 240(w) X 320(h) resolution.
The TX09D40VM3CAA incorporates touch screen functionality within its compact 64 x 86 x 4 mm (WxHxD) form factor. The anti-glare display delivers bright images at 340 cd/m². The TX09D40VM3CBA, without the touchpanel is even more compact at 64 x 86 x 3,12 mm (WxHxD) and delivers 430 cd/m², making it ideal for outdoor and high ambient light environments.
