28 V MIL-rated family of power systems

24 January 2007 Power Electronics / Power Management

The 28 V d.c. MIL-COTS VIPAC family of power systems is a new class of user-defined, modular power solutions for military COTS applications such as radar, military ground vehicle, communications equipment, and aerospace. It incorporates Vicor's M-FIAM5B, which provides MIL-STD-461E EMI filtering and MIL-STD-704E/F transient protection; Vicor's Maxi, Mini and Micro DC-DC H or M grade converters; and a choice of output connections and mechanical platforms.

The Military COTS VIPAC can be specified with one, two, or three outputs with voltages as low as 3,3 V d.c. to as high as 48 V d.c. and power levels from 50 to 400 W per output. The Military COTS VIPAC is available with a 28 V d.c. input in a variety of packages with profiles as low as 19,1 mm.

The 28 V VIPAC also gives MIL-COTS designers the flexibility to create a power supply online using Vicor's VCAD design tool that meets their specific needs including stringent EMI and transient protection specifications.
