Last year Comus International launched its MS24 movement and vibration switch.
Using gold-plated contacts in a fully-sealed gold-plated metal housing, the switch is claimed to offer high reliability and long life, whilst being suitable for use in a wide range of environments. It features a switch rating of 24 V at 0,025 A, with a can size of 9,5 mm long x 8,2 mm diameter.
Mounted in any position the sensor reacts when disturbed, by giving a momentary change of contact state from normally-closed to open (or vice versa).
Comus has now released a remodelled miniature version of the MS24, called the MS24M. This switch has all the same characteristics, but with the reduced housing size of 5 mm long x 4,8 mm diameter and a switch rating of 24 V at 0,02 A, allowing easy fitting onto PCBs or other assemblies where space is limited.
