The AMP 'Power Series' connectors are designed to provide a durable, quick connect/disconnect means to transmit 'power' levels of current and voltage, this being 15-275 A, up to 600 V a.c/d.c.
This product family is primarily comprised of single-pole and 2-pole (battery) connector housings, crimp snap-in contacts, and accessories. The housings are offered in various colours. Two-pole housings have different polarisation configurations. With the exception of black housings, each colour identifies a different keying configuration. In general, only the like colour housings will mate. Contacts are either cold-headed or stamped and formed, depending upon the connector series.
AMP Power Series Connectors are divided into eight series, based on the approximate current-carrying capability.
Applications include: AC/DC power supplies and charging systems, rechargeable batteries, material handling equipment (eg, forklift trucks), electric vehicles (eg, golf carts, sweepers, wheelchairs), office furniture/panels, amateur emergency radios, and industrial equipment.
