New g-sensors have multiple sensitivities

Freescale Semiconductor has launched two dual-axis acceleration sensors and one three-axis acceleration sensor that have the g-select feature with multiple sensitivities for detecting: fall, tilt, motion, position, shock and vibration.
Said to be market-unique, the new MMA6280Q measures on the XZ axes, the new MMA7261Q measures on the XYZ axes and the new MMA6270Q measures on the XY axes. The g-select feature on all three sensors allows them to be designed into applications that need sensitivities ranging from 1,5 g, 2 g, 2,5 g, 3,3 g, 4 g, 6 g, 6,7 g and 10 g.
These sensors are well-suited for designers who are developing dual- and triple-axes applications that could benefit from features which include: a low operating current of 500 μA, a sleep mode of 3 μA, low-voltage operation from 2,2-3,6 V, a low, slim package profile of 6 x 6 x 1,45 mm (QFN), high sensitivity of 800 mV/g @ 1,5 g, fast turn-on time and high-shock survivability.
