This new series of contact strips from Preci-Dip Durtal reaches new limits for screw-machined contacts in a metric pitch of 1 mm (X+Y). The height of the connector is minimised, allowing distances between PCBs as low as 4 mm with soldering tails.
Although this connector is small enough to be used in situations with very little space, the screw-machined precision contacts with gold or tin plating are mechanically robust. The four-finger contact clip made of gold-plated beryllium copper is inserted into the machined sleeve to guarantee a highly reliable contact point.
The product withstands the climatic conditions to IEC 55/125/21 and allows 1 A nominal current per contact and 60 V d.c. The insulator is made of a temperature resistant LC polymer (self extinguishing UL 94 V-0), allowing operating temperatures between -55 to 125°C. It withstands corrosion testing over 48 hours salt spray and 96 hours SO2 and H2S according to IEC.
