Seminar: living with lead-free

PEM Technologies will be running a series of one-day seminars titled 'Living with lead-free'.
The seminars will be run in association with the 'SMART Group' and its 'LEADOUT' project, which is a European initiative dealing with the upcoming change in legislation. PEM is pleased to inform readers that it will have two of the committee from the SMART Group participating in the seminars, namely, Keith Bryant and Andy Kellard.
The SMART (surface mount and related technologies) Group (www.smartgroup.org) is a trade association that aims to promote the advancement of surface mount and related assembly technologies for electronics.
The 'Living with lead-free' seminar will be covering topics such as: stencils and printing with lead-free, pitfalls of moisture, increased temperatures, voiding in lead-free, PCB pad finish, problems of champagne-voiding as well as introducing new technology to assist with some of these issues.
The seminars will be held on the: 23 March 2006 in Cape Town; 27 March 2006 in Johannesburg/Pretoria; and 31 March 2006 in Durban.
