Small size industrial connectors also RoHS compliant

25 January 2006 Interconnection

Recently introduced by Tyco Electronics, HTS brand HSK 4+2 industrial connectors are specifically designed for drive (3Phase + Ground + Signalling) and heating (3Phase + Neutral + Ground + Signalling) appliances; or any application running less than 40 A requiring three phase-, one neutral- and one ground-line connectors.

Featuring screw-terminations that are easy to install in the field and 4-position 40 A/500 V + ground + 2-FMLB contacts, the new devices require 30% less space than comparable connectors due to a new compact design, according to the company.

Manufactured from RoHS compliant and UL 94 V0 materials, HSK 4+2 connectors feature a nominal voltage of 500 V, a test voltage of 4 kV as well as Pollution Degree 3. Metal covers ensure useability for up to IP68 applications. Using first-make-last-break-contacts for signalling, the devices mate to cables from 2,5 up to 6 mm² diameter and meet VDE, UL as well as CSA specifications. HSK 4+2 dimensions meet latest EN 61984 standards.
