RoHS-compliant RF coaxial connectors

25 January 2006 Interconnection

Tyco Electronics has launched a new range of RoHS compliant RF coaxial connectors offering a cost effective and reliable solution for commercial applications such as instrumentation, medical equipment, industrial process and control, transportation and CCTV monitoring. Using precision die-cast components and thermoplastic dielectrics, the ZDC series connectors feature bayonet coupling for rapid connectivity and threaded coupling for secure termination.

Initially available in BNC interfaces and a range of cable mounted plugs and jacks, bulkhead and PCB sockets, ZDC series connectors offer multiple PCB mounting options and meet MIL-C-39012 and MIL STD348A requirements. The crimp connectors provide reliable and repeatable crimp termination, utilising standard hexagonal crimp tools and die-sets to avoid costly re-tooling.

Designed for an operating temperature range from -55 to 85°C, ZDC series connectors are available with either 50 or 75 Ω impedance and a frequency range from DC up to 4 GHz. Minimum durability is 50 cycles. The devices terminate to popular RG coax cables.
