Micrel is expanding its family of industry-leading low-voltage, low noise µCap low-dropout (LDO) regulators with a pair of 150 mA devices ideal for driving RF circuitry in cellphones, among others.
Claimed to offer the industry's lowest noise and lowest dropout voltage, the MIC5246 and MIC5247 regulators expand the MIC524X family of µCap LDOs. All µCap LDOs are stable with either tantalum or ceramic output capacitors. Available in the IttyBitty SOT-23-5 package, the two new devices have only 30 µVr.m.s. of output noise.
The MIC5246 is available in fixed output voltages and comes equipped with an error flag to warn an output out of regulation fault condition. The MIC5247 is available in lower output voltages of 1,5 and 1,8 V and includes a noise bypass pin to further improve the noise performance.
