Contact inserts are now available for Variosub-DeviceNet plug connectors from Phoenix Contact that can be directly soldered on the PCB. These can also be used for making cable-to-cable connections in the field, now allowing direct integration of plug connectors into devices.
The fieldbus plug connectors with push-pull locking offer reliable IP67 protection in industrial applications. Integrated EMC contacting insulates against electromagnetic fields and enables disturbance-free data transmission. Two integrated cable glands make it easy to implement line structures using incoming and outgoing lines in thick and thin formats. The couplings can be used for cable-to-cable ('flying') connections or be directly mounted to a housing wall, making T or X cable branches possible.
A special Combicon contact insert with 30 μinch thick gold coating - in accordance with ODVA fieldbus organisation guidelines - ensures faultless functioning and compatibility throughout the system.
