BVH Technologies was founded in 1994 under the umbrella of the BVH Group of companies, which include engineering and property holding and development companies.
The company was formed to fill a gap in the market to supply connectors and harness, of high quality, to the electronics industry with short lead times. The company has also since branched into other components. BVH Technologies now offers an extensive range of connector and harness capability.
The directors, Leon van Heerden and Steve Davel, came to South Africa from Zimbabwe in the '80s. Van Heerden furthered his studies at the University of the Witwatersrand and obtained a degree in electrical engineering. He has since spent much of his time in the electronics industry, from design and development of embedded systems in the telecom industry, to production design and procurement of electronic equipment. Davel joined a large international specialist connector company at an early age, where he received extensive training in this area, including studying overseas.
Recently, the company has added to its production line, the latest in fully automatic crimping machinery from a world class manufacturer. This has greatly increased its wire processing ability - both in speed and quality - as every crimp is automatically tested. Wire sizes from 0,0123 mm² to 2,5 mm² can be processed with the same ease and reliability.
BVH Technologies sources its products directly from various factories from around the world and continually strives to better the prices, quality and the range of its products. 80% of the company staff comprise of previously disadvantaged persons. Always keeping abreast of current trends, BVH assures customers of friendly helpful service, at all levels in the company.
