Variable transformers more easily installed

The 25-400 VA MTL transformers from Murrelektronik have a novel and compact design. The redevelopment of all transformer components has meant that many useful features have now been integrated. For example, it now has an LED indicator on the input side, which signals the presence of the primary voltage. The multiple winding on the primary side means that each transformer can be used for both 230 and 400 V a.c. Additional terminal blocks also allow voltage adaptations of ±15 V a.c. to be made.

The highlight of the new product line is the removable combination foot plate, which can be screw-mounted in the normal way, snapped on or support rail-mounted. However, its benefits are particularly evident during assembly: the lightweight mounting plate can be removed from the housing and attached separately. The transformer is then simply snapped on again and it is mounted. This new easier type of assembly system is available for the entire product line.

The internal features have also undergone further development: the transformer is supplied with two equivalent output voltages as standard (eg 2 x 12 V a.c. or 2 x 115 V a.c.). These outputs can be connected in parallel or in series via plug links within the transformer to obtain the required secondary voltage or output power. PE and 0 V can be bridged in the same way.

As well as the transformers, power supply units with transformers up to 10 A are also available with the same design.
