200 W medical/industrial PCB series power supplies

19 October 2005 Power Electronics / Power Management

Mean Well has introduced the MPS/D/T/Q-200 series power supplies with active PFC function that extends its PCB product line up to 200 W.

Complying with both medical and industrial agency standards, these units can deliver their full rated output of 200 W with 25 CFM forced air or 140 W with convection cooling for either medical or industrial applications. Featuring only 180 μA of leakage current at 264 V a.c., they can be equipped into non-patient contact medical equipment and still comply with Class B per EMI regulations.

Standard functions include short-circuit, over-load, over-voltage, and over-temperature protections, PG/PF signal output, remote sense, and remote On/Off control that covers most of the demand for typical usage. Since the height is only 35,5 mm, the MPS/D/T/Q-200 series are suitable for 1U installations or other height-constrained applications. General medical applications that require low leakage current, general electronics applications, and low profile IT equipment, are all suitable uses for this multifunction product series.

With the same 178 x 108 x 36 mm compact size as the -120 series, this -200 type possess 66% more power density in the same dimensions. With universal AC input of 90-264 V a.c., various DC output combination options are available.
