Maxim offers new battery monitors packaged in an ultra-small 1 x 1,5 mm microDFN package, making them the smallest battery monitors currently available, it claims. The MAX6775-MAX6781 consume only 3 μA and have 1% accuracy. This 1% accuracy allows a battery to drain down further than is typically considered safe, enabling longer operation. These battery monitors are intended for single Li+ or multicell NiMH, NiCd, and alkaline cell applications in portable equipment. They are available with fixed hysteresis options of 0,5%, 5%, or 10%, or with user-adjustable hysteresis to prevent the output from chattering due to load removal. They are fully specified from -40 to +85°C.
