Complete 10Gig-Ethernet over copper cabling solution

18 May 2005 Interconnection

Falcon Electronics, in partnership with Systimax Solutions has announced it brings the first full UTP Infrastructure solution to comply with the latest IEEE 802.3an task force guidelines.

Systimax Solutions, a leader in structured connectivity solutions and services for businesses, has launched an innovative new cabling solution capable of supporting 10 Gigabit Ethernet. The company believes it is the first vendor to provide a full UTP solution that fully complies with the latest IEEE 802.3an task force guidelines for 10GBase-T.

Systimax developed the Systimax GigaSPEED X10D solution to support both the bandwidth needs of today's enterprises and the needs of more demanding applications such as high resolution video, grid computing and storage area network/network attached storage (SAN/NAS).

The company has a long tradition of producing innovative cabling products that have consistently given enterprise managers the peace of mind that comes with installing a leading edge solution. The GigaSPEED X10D Solution is a natural extension and evolution to existing Category 6/Class E specifications, which Systimax Solutions was first to launch in 1997 with its GigaSPEED Solution. The GigaSPEED X10D Solution is protected by the Systimax SCS 20-year Extended Product Warranty and Application Assurance.

Systimax has designed a solution that is compliant with the latest cabling channel requirements set out by the IEEE 802.3an task force. The IEEE 802.3an has adopted new channel specifications for 10GBase-T known as IEEE Model No.1 PSANEXT (Power Sum Alien Near End Crosstalk) and Insertion Loss. These specifications are also being adopted by the International cabling standard committees in the creation of 'new Class E' or 'Augmented Category 6' cabling specifications.

Systimax considers these channel specifications technically stable and is introducing an innovative cabling solution that fully supports these requirements over 100 m, including four connections.
