Whatever your test and measurement challenge - basic electrical testing to advanced onsite calibration - Fluke and Comtest have announced that they can offer the perfect solution.

Digital multimeters

Safety, quality and performance: in these three words Fluke sums up the benefits of its extensive range of digital multimeters. From compact first-level troubleshooters to ultra-smart models packed with features, Fluke has designed these instruments to help users work faster, more efficiently and with greater accuracy. It says there is a model for every budget and application.

The Fluke 189 is designed with the features, precision and accuracy to troubleshoot power distribution, industrial automation, process controls and electronic and electro-mechanical equipment in the field or on the bench. It has a built-in data logger to record measurements unattended without a PC.

Installation testers

The future of installation testing in domestic, commercial and industrial applications is here, says Fluke, with its ergonomic multifunction testers that redefine ease-of-use, speed and convenience. These instruments are designed for ensuring that fixed wiring is installed according to IEC 60364, and they perform all the tests required to verify safety. In addition, Fluke's MegOhmMeters allow rapid testing of insulation resistance by delivering test voltages from 250 V up to 5000 V.

The Fluke 1653 can be used to verify the safety of electrical installations in domestic, commercial and industrial applications.

Power quality tools

Fluke's innovative single-phase power quality analyser combines oscilloscope, multimeter and data recorder functionality in one dedicated handheld instrument. This allows technicians to pinpoint three-phase power quality problems faster, safer and in more detail than previously possible, says Fluke.

The Fluke 430 offers unique features like AutoTrend and System-Monitor, which help to quickly drill down into power quality problems in detail. The CAT IV 600 V safety rating for all four-channels means the 430 series can measure all phases and neutral on virtually every connection in a low voltage application.

ScopeMeter test tools

With the original ScopeMeter, Fluke transformed the oscilloscope category beyond recognition and it still leads the way. It offers from rugged solutions for industrial applications to full-colour models that pack top-end bench oscilloscope specifications into handheld, battery-powered instruments. ScopeMeter provides high speed and performance and simplifies analysis while working on site.

The Fluke 199C has a bandwidth of 200 MHz and 2,5 GS/s realtime sampling. With a deep memory of 27 500 points per input, it is highly recommended for engineers who need the full capabilities of a high performance oscilloscope in a handheld portable instrument.

Field calibrators

For testing and calibrating process control instrumentation there is a wide range of field calibration tools. Virtually all types of sensors and transmitters can be maintained and calibrated, says Fluke. The choice is available whether all the required functionality in a single tool is required, or a dedicated tool for temperature or pressure, or if an intrinsically safe version is needed.

The Fluke 740 Series calibrates temperature, pressure, voltage, current, resistance and frequency and can simultaneously measure and source. It automatically captures calibration results and can store up to 8000 readings in data logging mode (743B and 744).

Solutions

These are just some of the Fluke solutions that are available through Comtest, the sole authorised southern African distributor for Fluke's range of test tools.

Comtest is a conglomeration of industry stalwarts, including MD, Peter Verwer, sales director, Richard Lewis, sales manager, Hilton Preston and product manager, Brendan Campbell. Together with Van Zyl Koegelenberg and Les Wesson of Comtest's authorised service partner, Repair and Metrology Services, a vast range of knowledge and expertise is available to new and existing Fluke customers.
