Supplier sorts out signalling, control and monitoring needs

20 April 2005 Computer/Embedded Technology

SRE Developments endeavours to cater for customers' specific signalling and control needs. It offers a comprehensive range of control devices in DIN-mountable format.

SRE also manufactures its own patented DIN rail pluggable modular timers in 2-module width format. These timers are particularly suited to DIN D/B boards as they are the same size as a double pole DIN C/B. All the standard functions are available with a wide variety of standard time ranges and voltages. The standard timers are equipped with a 10 A single C/O relay and are microprocessor-based. Termination is via 2,5 mm pluggable terminals.

To facilitate higher current applications, a full range of relays in PCB, pluggable and various interface combinations up to 30 A are available, as well as contactors above this current range, for inclusion in new designs or for replacement purposes. Upon request, SRE's timers also come in 11-pin plug-in format for replacement/maintenance purposes. To complement these, the company offers a range of Legrand DIN switches, indicators and time switches. All units are DIN rail mountable and fit alongside any DIN circuit breakers. The switches include momentary or latching, change over and stop start. These can be configured for momentary or latching by a unique adjustable mechanism on the side of the module, thus alleviating the need to carry double stock.

The indicators are available in single, double or a combination of switch and indicator. No special tool is required to change lamps as an innovative release mechanism is built into the units. Switch buttons and indicator lenses are available in various colours and can be changed once the units are installed in the panel. A complete range of mechanical and electronic time switches in single and multiple DIN module widths is also available.

SRE manufactures a range of lamp-test, common alarm and alarm indication/control equipment in either PCB format or built up in a standalone enclosure. In addition to this, it offers GSM communication from the alarm indication equipment. The GSM communicator is a 2-way unit, which offers notification and control. In association with Autopage, a fully integrated computer room monitor is available that monitors room temperature, mains fail/restore, UPS failure and entry. Outputs/control for airconditioner, lighting and fire equipment are incorporated to drive externally-installed power equipment.

For the panel builder and maintenance technician, SRE offers a comprehensive range of signalling and control devices. Included in the range are 22,5 mm panel mount indicators, selector switches, key switches, emergency stop buttons and combination stop/start pushbuttons. The protection on these units varies from IP40 to IP67. The indicators accept a standard BA9 globe with direct supply up to 110 V a.c. and a resistor/diode block for 220 V a.c. supply. The contact blocks for the switches are rated 16 A at 690 V a.c. With the use of an adaptor bracket, they are also DIN-rail mountable.
