Micrel's MIC94062 and MIC94063 are two soft-start, high side load switches featuring the company's compact Teeny SC-70- packaging. The chips are aimed at a wide variety of handheld, battery powered consumer devices.
The MIC94062/63 achieves an extremely economical RON versus PCB footprint, says the company. With Micrel's patented P-FET technology, the company has been able to pack a 70 mΩ FET switch and control circuitry into a SC-70 package.
The devices operate with inputs ranging from 1,8 V to 5,5 V and incorporate novel built-in level shift circuitry that allows low voltage logic to control higher voltage supplies, or vice versa. The device can be driven by just 1,5 V logic. They have a low operating current of 2 μA. Shutdown current is <1 μA. Micrel's Teeny SC-70-6 package measures 2 x 2 mm.
