The MA200D1 is a high frequency ultrasonic transducer, targeted specifically at printer and scanner equipment. This innovative device from Murata has the ability to detect the incidence of double feeding of paper through printers and scanners, even when the paper is very thin, very thick or different thicknesses.
According to the manufacturer, the MA200D1 features a fast response time, short ringing time, wide bandwidth and is less influenced by reflection wave than high sensitivity devices. The transducer is specified with a nominal frequency of 220 kHz ±20 kHz, with an overall sensitivity of 1 to 2,5 V. Amplification gain is 60 dB, directivity of 20° and a capacitance of 2300 pF ±20%.
These devices provide a faster response than similar transducers in the range, says the company, primarily because it uses a shorter drive cycle (typically cycles at 20 Vp-p) at 220 kHz, and the signal stabilises faster as there is less reflected wave detected. The MA200D1 transducer measures 18 mm in diameter and has a profile of 9 mm.
