MPL has added two new powerful models and a unique remote MMI solution to its uniquely-packaged Industrial PC concept. The new models include a Pentium III solution and a PowerPC solution with a very low power consumption that allows operation without a fan or ventilation holes.
The PIP product range is available with various version and different low power processor (5x86, Pentium MMX, Pentium III and PowerPC). The name PIP stands for a 'compact, robust, low power, fanless, and ready to use' Industrial PC with a long term availability guarantee that fits on a DIN rail or a wall and is ready for connection and operation, says the company.
The PIP concept offers a full set of standard PC features and interfaces. Integrated specialities include: four serial interfaces, two USB interfaces and all units come with an opto-isolated CAN bus. For service or monitoring, the units are equipped with a reset button and a series of indicator lights. The PIP products support CRT and LCD Monitors (XGA resolution). They can optionally be ordered with on-board Ethernet and/or a SCSI-II interfaces.
Also available is unique remote MMI options for today's industrial needs. Another speciality of the PIP product range is the wide temperature range of 0 to +60°C (optionally -40 to +75°C).
The PIP products are built in a specially designed, EMC protected, robust aluminium housing (162 x 270 x 62 mm). All required connectors are standard PC connectors and are available on the PIP sides. All interfaces are ESD-protected. The PIP Concept includes an on-board power supply that operates with 8-28 V d.c. The housing also has sufficient space to incorporate a hard disk, floppy or any PC/104 expansion.
